Just got home after seeing something impressive on Plaza Real, Barcelona. Imagine this: a square pretty much empty and two chicks kissing each other in the middle of it. They were ignoring everyone and everything and somehow the scenario was surprisingly romantic. Two girls madly lost on feelings that seemed pretty fucking good and different from anything I saw before. I think I simply saw the beauty in it. Well, if all of this had been a movie, this would be the perfect soundtrack for it. Cheers and…. praise love, praise Tamaryn!

Acabo de chegar a casa depois de ter visto algo de impressionante na Plaza Real, em Barcelona. Imaginem isto: uma praça praticamente vazia e duas raparigas ao beijos no centro. Estavam a ignorar tudo e todos e de alguma forma aquilo tudo pareceu-me surpreendentemente romântico. Duas raparigas terrivelmente perdidas em sentimentos que pareciam realmente bons e diferentes de qualquer coisa que eu já possa ter visto. Acho que simplesmente vi beleza em toda aquele situação. Bem, se tudo isto fosse um filme, esta seria a perfeita banda sono. Cheers e já agora… praise love, praise Tamaryn!

Is Tropical + Database

Is Tropical is the latest band that made the likes of the guys behind Kitsuné and they’re soon starting their first European Tour (that does not include Portugal, as usual). To celebrate the occasion and also the release of their first single, “South Pacific”, they’re giving away a mixtape with some of their favourite bands (tracklist after the jump). Also, a remix of their single by Database, that is included on their single, together with other remixes by Peaces, Get People and Yojimbo.

Os Is Tropical são a última banda a ter agradado à rapaziada por trás da Kitsuné e eles vão começar a primeira Tour pela Europa em breve (que não inclui Portugal, como sempre). Para celebrar a ocasião e também o lançamento do primeiro single, “South Pacific”, a banda está a dar uma mixtape com alguns dos seus grupos preferidos (lista dos sons em more). Ainda, um remix de Database do single, que está no single juntamente com remixes de Peaces, Get People e Yojimbo.

Menagerie are three guys from Adelaide, Australia, that just sent me “Cut Off Your Hands”, one of the songs included on their debut LP. They are a mixture between psychedelic, roots and electronic, on which I didn’t yet decide if I’m crazy into or not. One thing I can say though, this is a great song. Lovin’ it since I first heard! Everyone knows that Crystal Fighters are releasing their first LP in a few days, more exactly on the 4th of October. Well, since the guys love to be loved, they are streaming the whole “Star of Love” on their soundcloud. Joy, oh joy!

Blackbird Blackbird

Blackbird Blackbird could have been the definition for nostalgia, at least in my dictionary. I hear them and my mind is sent to outer space. Some call it shoegaze (which I kind of agree), some call it dream pop or even new wave psychedelic. I like to call it wondery, because it makes me aerial. Since their “Summer Heart” LP is only coming out on the 28th (“Pure” will be the first single), I’ll leave you here with one of songs on their Rarities EP.

Blackbird Blackbird podia ser a definição para nostalgia, pelo menos no meu dicionário. Eu ouço-os e a minha mente vai para a estratosfera. Alguns chamam-lhe shoegaze (o que eu até concordo), outros chamam-lhe dream pop ou meso new wave psicadélico. Eu gosto de lhe chamar wondery, porque me deixa sempre aéreo. Dado o LP, “Summer Heart”, sair apenas no dia 28 (sendo o primeiro single a “Pure”), eu vou deixar-vos com uma das músicas do Rarities EP.
