The Strokes

“When you come back, make sure you come back big”. If this is not a famous quote, it should be. We’ve been away for a few weeks, but fear not my friends. We are alive and well. We’ve been preparing a whole new layout and concept for the blog, so be patient with us. Talking about comebacks, The Strokes released their first single from the new album, their 4th and it’s a winner to me. The whole thing is released on the 22th of March!

“Quando regressares, certifica-te que o fazes em grande”. Se isto não é uma frase famosa, devia ser. Temos estado um pouco ausente nas últimas semanas, mas não se assustem amigos. Estamos vivos e bem. Temos estado a preparar um layout e um conceito novo para o blog, por isso sejam pacientes connosco. Falando de regressos, os The Strokes lançaram o 1º single do novo álbum e para mim, já ganhou. O álbum tem release marcado para o dia 22 do próximo mês.

They’re back! “Microlite” has been part of my life since the debut and it was one of the best songs released in 2010. Now, Trophy Wife are presenting their new single that will be released next month, through Moshi Moshi. “The Quiet Earth” is another “office disco” tune, that raises our expectations way higher for this Oxford dudes.

Eles estão de volta! “Microlite” faz parte da minha vida desde que foi lançada e é uma das melhores músicas de 2010. Agora, os Trophy Wife estão a apresentar o novo single, que vai ser lançado no próximo mês, pela Moshi Moshi. “The Quiet Earth” é mais um hit de “office disco”, que aumenta bastante as nossas expectativas para estes bacanos de Oxford.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! I’m sorry The Twees, I’ve been taking too much time reviewing all the emails we’ve been receiving. These guys are from NY and the singer’s voice is similar to The Crib’s frontman. It’s sweet sweet indie rock for your ears. Their debut EP is out on the 12th.

Meeeeeerda! Desculpem The Twees, tenho andado a demorar muito tempo a rever todos os emails que temos recebido. Estes gajos são de NY e a voz do vocalista é bué parecida com a do vocalista dos The Cribs. É indie rock e é algo que os vossos ouvidos já ansiavam ha muito. O EP de estreia sai dia 12.

Just got home after seeing something impressive on Plaza Real, Barcelona. Imagine this: a square pretty much empty and two chicks kissing each other in the middle of it. They were ignoring everyone and everything and somehow the scenario was surprisingly romantic. Two girls madly lost on feelings that seemed pretty fucking good and different from anything I saw before. I think I simply saw the beauty in it. Well, if all of this had been a movie, this would be the perfect soundtrack for it. Cheers and…. praise love, praise Tamaryn!

Acabo de chegar a casa depois de ter visto algo de impressionante na Plaza Real, em Barcelona. Imaginem isto: uma praça praticamente vazia e duas raparigas ao beijos no centro. Estavam a ignorar tudo e todos e de alguma forma aquilo tudo pareceu-me surpreendentemente romântico. Duas raparigas terrivelmente perdidas em sentimentos que pareciam realmente bons e diferentes de qualquer coisa que eu já possa ter visto. Acho que simplesmente vi beleza em toda aquele situação. Bem, se tudo isto fosse um filme, esta seria a perfeita banda sono. Cheers e já agora… praise love, praise Tamaryn!

Bordeauxxx is an indie-rock band from London that I enjoyed very much. They came through the P+M magazine 03, a magazine with sounds and interviews which Masahiro Nomura wished to share with us. They remind me Cajun Dance Party, with that style quite danceable and joyous that pleases me so much. Their work boils down to an EP so far, “Mother’s Ruin”, which is available for download here on the band’s website. Enjoy!

Os Bordeauxxx são uma banda indie-rock de Londres da qual gostei muito. Eles chegaram-nos através da P+M magazine 03, uma revista com sons e entrevistas que o Masahiro Nomura fez questão de partilhar connosco. Eles fez-me lembrar um pouco Cajun Dance Party com aquele estilo bem alegre e dançável que tanto me agrada. Little Comets

Little Comets are not new around here. Their infectious indie rock is recognizable and we sure like it. Their new single is hitting the stores on January 17th 2011 and they made a video for the song, to make you start thinking about it! “Joanna” is a nice teaser for their soon to be released album. Also, there’s a acapella version of the song they’re sharing and we have it here.

Os Little Comets não são novos por aqui. O indie rock infeccioso da banda é reconhecível e nós gostamos bastante! O novo single vai parar às lojas no próximo dia 17 de Janeiro 2011 e eles fizeram um video para começarem a pensar nisso. “Joanna” é um bom teaser para o álbum que aí vem. Ainda, eles estão a partilhar uma versão acapella da música e nós temo-la aqui.

Seapony are a three piece from Seattle, that does this lo fi indie rock that everyone likes. A few months ago, the band shared their debut EP for free on their bandcamp, “Seapony EP” and it made quite an impression on me. They’re back with a new EP, called Dreaming and the release is already sold out. Yes, it’s good. We have a b-side as well for your delight!

Os Seapony são um trio de Seattle, que faz aquele indie rock lo fi que toda a gente gosta. Há uns meses atrás, a banda lançou um EP à pala através do bandcamp, chamado “Seapony EP”, do qual fiquei com uma boa impressão. Eles estão de volta com um novo EP, chamado “Dreaming” e já está esgotado. Yeap, é bom. Também temos um dos b-sides para o vosso deleite!
