The C90’s + VillA

The C90’s have been doing some pretty decent remixes, namely for Cut Copy, Roisín Murphy and Filthy Dukes. It has been announced they’re dropping their debut single next month and it counts with a VillA remix (who is actually playing on Porto on the 24th of April). Both versions are really good (maybe for different venues), but if I had to choose I would go with the remix. Choose your own poison!

Os The C90’s têm feito uns remixes bem bacanos, nomeadamnete para os Cut Copy, Roisin Murphy e Filthy Dukes. Foi anunciado que vão lançar o single de estreia no próximo mês e conta também com um remix do VillA (que, na verdade, vai estar a tocar no Porto dia 24 de Abril). Ambas as versões são muito boas (talvez para sítios diferentes), mas se eu tivesse de escolher, ia para o remix. Escolham o vosso veneno!

Danimals

Danimals is the name of the former one-man band created by Jonti Danilewitz (it’s a quintet now). So what about them? They got together with producer Mark Ronson and counting for Ted Lab‘s experiment, created the song “Fox”. With lyrics by Santi White (Santigold, yes), the song is like a 60’s indie rock with a The Strokes twist (Oh, Albert Hammond Jr. helped in the project as well) joint together with some dreamy-layers, maybe even psychadelic melodies. Well, just listen to it!

Danimals é o nome da anteriormente one-man band criada pelo Jonti Danilewitz (agora é um quintento). Então, o que há sobre eles? Eles juntaram-se com o produtor Mark Ronson e a contar para a Ted Lab’s experiment, criaram a música “Fox”. Com letras pela Santi White (Santigold, sim), a música é tipo um indie rock dos 60’s com um twist dos The Strokes (Ah, o Albert Hammond Jr. ajudou neste projecto também) com umas camadas dreamy, talvez até umas melodias psicadélicas. Epá, ouçam mazé!

Cassette Kids + Russ Chimes

Cassette Kids have been the cute kids on the block for the last weeks. Their latest song “Spin” has a video to go with it and a Russ Chimes remix that definitely deserves to be listened. By the way, does anyone agree with me when I say The Sounds just got served?

Os Cassette Kids têm sido os meninos giros das últimas semanas. A última música deles, “Spin”, traz um video com ela e um remix do Russ Chimes que merece definitivamente ser ouvido. Já agora, alguém concorda comigo quando digo que os The Sounds acabaram de ser abusados?

Bit Funk

This Bit Funk guy is from Toronto and presents himself as a psychobilly-producer (at least on his myspace). Well, he reminds me of these two brazilian guys that I really dig. Synths are similar but somehow he adds a sparkle to it, it’s a bit funkier (laugh). One of the songs is an original while the other is a remix for the English pop-artist Kirstenana, that I didn’t know until now (maybe because she’s pretty normal, i’m just sayin’…)

Este Bit Funk é de Toronto e apresenta-se como um produtor de psychobilly (pelo menos no myspace). Bem, ele lembra-me deste dois brazileiros que eu curto bastante. Os synths são bastante parecidos mas de alguma forma ele adiciona uma faísca ao som, é mais funky (em inglês, funciona). Uma das músicas é um original enquanto a outra é um remix para a Kirstenana, uma artista Pop Inglesa, que eu não conhecia até agora (secalhar porque ela é bastante regular, mas quem sou eu…)

As the title suggests, I’ve been having some minor (major actually) schedule problems and as a result, you’ve been having less awesome (cof cof) musics to check! Como o título sugere, tenho tido uns pequenos (grandes na verdade) problemas de agenda e como resultado, vocês têm tido menos músicas do caraças (cof cof) para ouvir! Midnight Club

Midnight Club, the new kids signed by On The Fruit Records, have an upcoming EP called The Machine, that is being done (at least that’s what the rumours say) with old hardware to give the genuine vintage sensation (I can’t think of anything cooler than this!). Two hot biscuits directly from the oven, also part of the EP, that is out since… today.

Os Midnight Club, uns novos manos que assinaram pela On The Fruit Records, têm um novo EP chamado The Machine, que está a ser feito (pelo menos é o que se diz por ai) com hardware velho para dar aquela sensação genuína vintage (acho que não me lembro de nada mais abusado que isto). Dois biscoitos quentinhos directamente do forno, que também fazem parte do EP e que está à venda desde… hoje.

Cassette Kids + Sharam Jey

I had the idea that Cassette Kids were less ‘comercial’, but Lying Around proves the opposite. And actually that’s not bad thing! I like this new single, it has a nice pop feeling. They’re going to be in London, SXSW and they also are going to open some La Roux Concerts. Sharam Jey, as usual, did a really nice remix!

Tinha a ideia de que os Cassette Kids eram menos ‘comerciais’, but a Lying Around prova o contrário. O que não é necessariamente uma coisa má!! Gosto deste novo single, tem um feeling pop engraçado. Vão estar em Londres, no SXSW e vão abrir alguns concertos de La Roux. Como já é habitual, Sharam Jey fez um grandessíssimo remix!
